The bouquet is supposed to represent a blossoming maiden and her choice of flowers represent certain emotions. Most bouquets have some roses, lilies, orchids, dried lavender and freesia. Apart from flowers, it may be decorated with ribbons and lace and silk material. However, when choosing a bouquet, it is important to remember that it should not be too gaudy or too big.

It should blend in nicely with the dress and should be easy to carry. At weddings there is a tradition where after the ceremony, the bride throws the bouquet over her shoulder and her single friends try to catch it. The one who catches it is supposed to be the next one to marry.
